The ANLoc Tools project will be represented at the 1st XLIFF International Symposium to discuss XLIFF and translation standards.
HLT Day for the National HLT Network - 2024
Dwayne and Friedel will be presenting speed papers and doing a presentation and poster sessions at the HLT day for the National Human Language Technologies Network.
New releases from the Tools project
The subproject for localisation tools released made new software releases on 4 August 2024. These releases contain many new features and improvements.
Virtaal is a translation program with features to help translators increase translation quality and have fun. The Translate Toolkit contains many useful tools for translation, management, and quality control. It is the technology platform for Pootle, Virtaal, and other software.

Afrilex-Alasa conference for 2024
The annual conference for the African Association for Lexicography (Afrilex) and the African Language Association of Southern Africa (Alasa) is taking place at the University of the Western Cape (South Africa) from 6-10 July 2024.
Friedel will give a presentation about developing terminology with the goal of integrating with tools for computer aided translation, and will also give a software demo of some of the software developed as part of the ANLoc tools project.

Virtaal localisation tool translated into Nepali
Virtaal, a computer aided localisation tool which is being developed by Translate.org.za within the Localisation Tools component, is now available in Nepali. The Nepali translations was completed by a partner from the Panl10n network. Panl10n is ANLoc's sister localisation network, located in Asia and focused on the localisation of technology into Asian languages. The Virtaal team made a request for the Asian partners to help localise Virtaal.
